Safe Arrival and Prayer Requests

Hello! We have arrived safely in Cape Town!

The travel was long but uneventful and we have been blessed with a clean and safe place to stay during our visit. God provides!

Our first full day (Saturday) in Cape Town was the perfect day to see the true beauty of the city and knock off a bit of jet lag. We did this by getting out into the fresh air of Cape Town itself and hiking a nearby Botanical Garden.

Kirstenbosch, said to be the most beautiful garden in Africa, was the ideal setting for staying active when the urge to sleep cropped up. Our bodies may still think they are in the United States, but our hearts are 100% in South Africa right now. This country is gorgeous and we are humbled to be here.

One team member mentioned to the rest of the team that she was anxiously awaiting seeing the truth of Ephesians 2:10 be exhibited this week,

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

We walk into these next few days not knowing the fullness of what God will teach and show us, but knowing completely Who He is. He is Sovereign, and we know that What He says, He will do!

May I ask you to pray specifically for the members of our team today?

Will you please pray for physical endurance and freedom from pain? There are a couple of members who are being nagged with recent or old injuries and we would be most grateful for your lifting them up in Jesus’ name.

Would you also please pray a hedge of protection around our families at home? And also that we would be wholly focused on the work at hand and trusting God with those we love? We know that God has brought us all here and that He is faithful. We know that He is also more than ABLE to see and care for those we cannot reach with our arms far away.

We are so incredibly grateful for your partnership!

Tomorrow holds an exciting day of worship with local believers and partners in ministry and a bit more sightseeing before the work begins on Monday.

But first, a few pictures from today:

Kirstenbosch Gardens

Possibly wildlife sightings in Kirstenbosch (No, we did not see any of these *lovely creatures.)

An beautifully designed overlook bridge within Kirstenbosch, made in the design of the African boomslang snake, which *unfortunately* we did not see.

He is Faithful,
