Hello Brothers and Sisters!  Our church has had a flurry of summer mission activity with many mission trips that have already come and gone.  We welcome you back to the blog for updates on the medical mission trip to Ecuador!

This year, we will be taking a team of 10 health professionals back to Ecuador to perform mobile clinics and to share the good news of Jesus in rural areas surrounding the capital city of Quito.  We will be leaving on July 21 and returning July 29 and we are so thankful to the Lord for this opportunity to serve alongside local believers in God’s Kingdom advancement.

This year, we will also be teaching and training local church members in basic health care screening skills.  This will allow more side by side involvement with our team when we come and work together every summer.  It will also become a way to practically invest in people and promote independence within their community.

Even though we have all these great plans and ideas what we really need is prayer support.  We need people to intercede before the Lord that His way will prevail.  We need people to pray that we will be humble vessels of His plan for His glory.  And we need people to pray for unity of our team and an attitude that exudes the love of God.

“…Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you…Brothers Pray for us”
1 Thess 5:16-18, 25

So join us in praying during these days leading up to the trip and for the duration of the trip.  Pray for our team, pray for the Ecuadorian church that we work with.  Pray that God will prepare the hearts of Ecuadorian people who come to our clinic that they will know God and desire to grow in Him.  Attached to this blog you will find a prayer calendar with specific items to pray over.  I would encourage you to print it out and put it in your Bible or on your refrigerator.  That way, you will be reminded to intercede.

Finally, stay connected to this blog for updates, pictures, and stories of our time in Ecuador – internet willing, of course. You never know the reliability of internet connection abroad. 🙂
