“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation” Mark 16:15. I have read this verse of the Bible for many years and never knew God could be talking to me. Both of my children have served on multiple mission trips for several years but I had never been on one. I guess I thought it was out of reach for me. I did, however, want it for my children. One of my main focuses was to encourage them to be disciples of God and by doing so I have supported their journeys on the trips they had been on with different groups.
My daughter Jessica had been planning since last year to go on this mission trip to Swaziland. My husband and I were super excited for her to experience this with her family at Warren and bring all her growth home with her to share with us. A few weeks before the informational meeting for the upcoming trip Jessica said to me “Mom, come with me!” At that moment I said to myself and to God…”why not?” I prayed about it for a few days and talked it over with my husband and the more I thought about it the more I wanted it in my heart. Once we had our first scheduled meeting I was so overwhelmed knowing I could go and make a difference in someones’ life. I didn’t wonder if I could…I knew I could. I am so eager to experience what God will do in me and through me in the relationships I build with the children.
My prayer for this journey is for me to grow closer to God and to be the disciple that He wants me to be and that He will set the route I am to take. I know without a doubt that this trip will be a bond that Jessica and I will always share together as a mother and daughter and great things will happen.
Please pray for our team as we are making final preparations to leave and pray for the safety of our trip and for those we leave behind here at home while we are away. “Arise, for it is your task, and we are with you; be strong and do it” Ezra 10:4. We are ready God!!
7 Days until departure!!
